ADD-ON SERVICE

Vehicle Oil Change for Parked Cars in Southwest Florida

Many snowbirds leave a vehicle at their Southwest Florida property for the season. We keep it maintained while you're away — so it's ready when you return.

About This Service

Your Car Sits for Six Months. We Make Sure It’s Ready When You Return.

Leaving a vehicle parked for five or six months takes a toll. Oil degrades, seals dry out, and a car that sat through a Florida summer is not in the same condition as one that was driven regularly. Suncoast Home Watch offers oil change service for vehicles left at Southwest Florida vacation properties — coordinated as part of your regular home watch service, performed by a licensed local mechanic, and confirmed with a service report.

We coordinate the appointment, arrange access, confirm the work is completed, and include the service documentation in your property report. One less thing to manage from 1,200 miles away.

Why Vehicle Maintenance Matters During Extended Storage

Extended storage degrades engine oil regardless of mileage. Oil that sits breaks down chemically, loses its protective properties, and can leave deposits in the engine that cause wear when the vehicle is finally started and driven. A six-month Florida storage period — particularly through a hot summer — is long enough that an oil change before or shortly after your return is good practice even if the vehicle hasn’t accumulated significant mileage.

Combined with our Vehicle Engine Run Inspection service, which keeps your engine and battery in working condition through regular start-and-run visits during your absence, the oil change service ensures your vehicle is fully maintenance-current when you return in October.

Coordinated with Your Home Watch Service

Vehicle maintenance coordination is available as an add-on to any Suncoast Home Watch plan — Silver or Gold. You do not need a separate service agreement. We handle the scheduling, access, and documentation as part of your existing home watch relationship.

Suncoast Home Watch is NHWA accredited, fully bonded and insured. All vehicle service work is performed by licensed local mechanics — never by unlicensed individuals.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The oil change is performed by a licensed local mechanic from our vetted contractor network — not by Suncoast Home Watch co-owners directly. We coordinate the appointment, arrange property access for the mechanic, confirm the work is completed to standard, and include the service documentation in your property report. The same mechanic relationship and quality standard applies as with all of our vendor coordination work.
Our local mechanic network covers standard passenger vehicles including cars, trucks, and SUVs across all major makes and models. For specialty or high-performance vehicles with non-standard oil specifications, we confirm the appropriate oil type and filter with you before scheduling. If your vehicle requires a dealership service for warranty reasons, we can coordinate the appointment and access logistics with the dealership instead.
Contact us at hello@suncoasthomeswatch.com or call +1 716 908 5071 and let us know you have a vehicle at the property that needs service. We will confirm the vehicle details, discuss the service schedule, and add it to your plan. The oil change is billed as an add-on to your existing Silver or Gold home watch plan — there is no separate contract required.
Service completion is confirmed in your property report following the visit. You receive the mechanic's service documentation — including oil type, filter, and mileage — as part of your written report. If anything else is noted during the service, such as a fluid level concern or a tire issue, we include that in the report and follow up with recommendations.
Yes. Beyond oil changes, we can coordinate tire rotation, battery replacement, fluid top-offs, and other routine maintenance items through our local mechanic network. For anything beyond routine maintenance — such as brake work or significant repairs — we will obtain a quote, present it to you for approval, and coordinate the work the same way we handle property contractor coordination. See our [Vehicle Engine Run Inspection](/service/vehicle-engine-run-inspection/) service for regular checks on your parked vehicle between service appointments.
